Ashes revenge, a breakthrough Champions Trophy victory, World Cup glory and a ranking as cricket's No. 1 Test and one-day batsman.
It's been a stellar year for Ricky Ponting and the good times have been reflected in the Australian captain being short-listed in four categories for awards at the International Cricket Council's night of nights.
Ponting has the chance to become the first man to claim the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy twice in recognition for being the Cricketer of the Year, while he is also in the running for the Test and one-day player of the year awards, along with the top captain's honour.
Englishman Kevin Pietersen, Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf and West Indian Shivnarine Chanderpaul are also in contention for the Cricketer of the Year award, which will be announced in Johannesburg on Monday.
It's unclear whether Ponting will be in attendance as he remains at home dealing with what is believed to be a family illness while his teammates prepare in South Africa for the Twenty20 World Championship.
But his nomination is due reward for a bumper year where he plundered 576 Test runs at 82.28 and added 1185 one-day international runs at 51.52.
Fast bowler Shaun Tait capped an impressive year by being short-listed for the Emerging Player of the Year award.
Australia is expected to claim the team of the year award, and was short-listed for the Spirit of Cricket award.
