| ACA TAKING LONG HANDLE TO BOGUS PLAYER WEBSITES | |||
| Mike Hussey's life interest isn't really ''women''. Michael Clarke's input into the Facebook page running under his name is nil, nada, nought - but he is on Twitter. Ricky Ponting has two Facebook profiles but only one of them is run by the man himself. Take it as read that the ''I Laugh Hysterically Whenever Shane Watson Gets Dismissed In The 90's'' page is being organised by someone other than Watson. Bogus sites under the names of Australia's leading cricketers have become such a problem that the Australian Cricketers Association has posted a message on its website: ''The ACA have recently assisted several players and player managers to remove impostor or fake profiles on various social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. If you are aware of a fake profile purporting to be yourself the ACA may be able to assist in its removal. Please don't hesitate to contact ACA legal counsel Michael Abrahams for assistance.'' | PONTING SLAMS POSSIBLE MOVE NORTH FOR SHIELD | |||

The Australia skipper strongly defended the primacy of Sheffield Shield cricket. Read More » |

His desire to extend his Test career meant Twenty20 or one-dayers had to be obliterated from his schedule. Immediately before returning to the old Dart to lead Australia's face-saving victory over England in the limited-overs series, Ponting came out of hiding to announce his verdict … bye-bye T20. | PONTING FACES HARD SLOG WITH NO REST | |||
| National coach Tim Nielsen says Ricky Ponting will not be placed in cotton wool despite fears Australia's heavy one-day schedule could cut short the captain's Test career. Nielsen revealed Australia were unlikely to use a rotation policy this year due to a series of extended breaks in the international calendar. Australia launched their one-day campaign against Pakistan on Friday and are scheduled to play another 36 limited-overs matches before the 2011 World Cup - a tournament touted as Ponting's likely one-day swan song. | PONTING TAKES UP FIGHT AGAINST CANCER | |||
| Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting yesterday won over some of Tasmania's sick children at the Royal Hobart Hospital. In Hobart for the third Test match at Bellerive starting on Thursday, Ponting and his wife Rianna visited the paediatric oncology unit to meet those who would benefit from the Ponting Foundation's fight against childhood cancer.
